The Daily Star in Lebanon reports that Amal is due to give birth to twins in March. The website's supposed source is a "family friend" in Beirut. (Amal is originally from Lebanon.)
Amal Clooney was lasted photographed in November at the Texas Conference For Women, where she showed no signs of a baby bump. But she and her husband have noticeably remained out of the public eye since then. So some are wondering if Amal is laying low during the pregnancy.
George and Amal Clooney have not yet commented on the twins rumor. But there were unconfirmed reports in September that Amal had started IVF treatment in an attempt to get pregnant.
Still, the couple has faced false pregnancy speculation in the past. Back in December 2014, pictures sparked rumors that Amal was hiding a baby bump. But her rep confirmed at the time that Amal wasn't pregnant.
The Amal Clooney pregnancy rumors only continued in 2016. George was actually asked about the speculation in January of that year. And while he said she wasn't expecting, he added, "But I like that you started that rumor."
Indeed, George and Amal Clooney have reportedly been trying to start a family for a while. In June 2015, George told Bild that he and his wife wanted kids but that they were "taking [their] time." They also reportedly put a nursery in their renovated home.
"[George] loves the relationships his friends have with their kids," a source said in July 2015. "George is ready for this step and he thinks that Amal will be a great mother.”
