Hold onto your witch’s broom, American Horror Story fans, because it looks like Season 4 of our favorite FX series just might be taking place in the eerie city of New Orleans again! According to reports, AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy slightly hinted at what admirers of the gruesome TV show should expect the theme of next season’s miniseries to be when he started going off on a witch-swooning rant.

"[Coven] is my favorite season that we've done so far," Murphy admitted. "Every season, I get very sad when I say goodbye to and we tear down those sets. But John Landgraf, to be quite clear, and I have always spoke about that this is a show that's sort of right to spin things off. To do something different. So we are talking about it. Because I mean, I love it. I love this season, I love the cast, and I love what it's about. I love that set more than life itself."

Does that mean we should expect Season 4 to be a continuation of Coven? "Definitely not," a source who works on the horror show confirmed to E! News. "It's not about witches. It's about something else entirely."

So what could Season 4 possibly be about? Well, Murphy decided he would give fans a major clue during the season finale of AHS: Coven when the last episode airs Jan. 29. Talk about a belated Christmas gift!

What we do know for sure is that Jessica Lange will definitely be bringing her beloved sarcasm and wit to Season 4 of American Horror Story. According to reports, next season will be the actress’ last.  "I am coming to the end of acting," Lange told the Los Angeles Times. "I have a list: another stage production, maybe one or two more movies, one more season of American Horror Story and then that is it for me. Because I think that's enough. I want to go out with a bang — or should I say, a scare?" Lange went on to say that she felt as if she needed “to start something brand new in life.”

Season 4 of American Horror Story will be bittersweet as it brings an end to an era and starts a new. And although we can bet tears will most certainly drip from our eyes throughout Season 4, we can’t wait to see what the creators of AHS has in store for us! "Put simply, Ryan Murphy is a master television producer,” FX CEO John Landgraf said. “Time and time again he reinvents the form. What he, co-creator Brad Falchuk and their producers Dante Di Loreto, Tim Minear, Jennifer Salt, James Wong, Brad Buecker, Jessica Sharzer, Douglas Petrie, Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, Alexis Martin Woodall and the entire production team and cast responsible for the American Horror Story franchise have done is nothing short of extraordinary. Every year, they create a riveting and brilliant new miniseries. AHS: Coven is the best yet, and I have no doubt that the next installment will be even better."

According to reports, Coven has averaged 7.7 million viewers since the Season 3 premiere surpassing the minisieries Murder House and Asylum.
