Are Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes over for good? After months of dating and cute PDA, the Nickelodeon actress and Wanted singer appear to no longer be a couple.  "You're a little behind,” Grande said when asked about the status of her and Sykes.

"We're really good friends," Grande told 93.3 FLZ in Florida. The interview got off to a strange start when the DJ asked Grande about  a birthday gift she got for Sykes. Grande then wanted to start the interview over, but it was live. It has now been removed from YouTube, but a screen-grab remains here.

It’s surprising that the couple broke up so soon considering they couldn’t get enough of each other this fall. “I'm so crazy about him every single day. He's so incredibly successful, but he's so kind and respectful, so gentlemanly,” Grande said about Sykes. “People have been really sweet about it and that makes me really happy, because it's beautiful and something to be celebrated.”

Sykes and Grande met when they collaborated on the song “Almost is Never Enough.” The couple confirmed their relationship in the fall through Twitter. “We hesitated saying anything as people can be a bit insensitive but thank u we value all of your happiness, thank you for valuing ours:)” Grande tweeted.  Sykes also tweeted: “So, I guess it’s obvious now … thanks to everyone who is being so lovely. I’m so happy  #butweareterrified #pleasedontkillme #orariana

Despite their happiness, Sykes Wanted bandmate Siva Kaneswaran said that the two may have trouble when it comes to distance.  ''In terms of them struggling- it's because they're brand new,” Kaneswaran told Yahoo. “I think that's actually a struggle right now, they know how hard it is in the beginning.''

"It's going to be hard,” Kaneswaran added. “They need to focus on each other.'' Sykes tweeted today that you shouldn’t believe everything you read. “Ooooo I know what to say! Don't believe anything until you hear it from me or one of the boys. Everyyyoneee calmmmmm doooowwwwnnnnn”

If Sykes and Grande are over, at least fans will get new music out of it. "I’m always going to be honest, I want to be. Music is the greatest form of self-expression,” Grande said. “You best believe I’m going to be writing about him!"
