Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk are keeping their daughter away from the press! Cooper remained mum about his baby girl during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres this week.

The couple welcomed Lea de Seine Shayk Cooper back in March. And since then, Cooper has mostly stayed out of the spotlight. Instead, he's been busy directing his upcoming film A Star Is Born with Lady Gaga.

But Cooper took some time out of his busy schedule to speak with DeGeneres. At the start of the interview, DeGeneres joked, "I don't know if you know this, but you have a baby." Cooper, feigning surprise, replied, "What?" DeGeneres then added, "When you get home you should look for it. It's somewhere in your house."

DeGeneres said later in the interview that Cooper didn't really want to talk about his baby. That makes sense, since he and Shayk are famously private when it comes to their personal life. News of Lea's birth didn't even go public until two weeks after the delivery.

But DeGeneres did say that she thought Cooper would be a great dad. "I just want to say I knew you’d be a good father when I saw you in 'American Sniper,"' she told him. "Let’s show the clip. He’s so good with a baby, please watch."

The camera then cut to the infamous scene of Cooper and a fake baby in the biopic. (The baby the director planned to use got sick, and the understudy was a no-show, so the director was forced to use a doll in the scene). And Cooper couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculous he looked trying to make the doll seem alive.

While Cooper was awkward with this fake baby, she couldn't be happier with his real daughter. Sources told E! News last month that he was " just in love" with his little girl. The insider added that Shayk is "in bliss" as a first-time mom. But they aren't letting that many people visit Lea just yet.

"Bradley is filming ['A Star Is Born'] now but still is making time for his baby," the source added. "He is just in love. They are both very protective over their baby and are only letting a few close family and friends to see their baby. Irina's family is in town and is helping with the baby. She has help as well around their home."
