Payne and Cheryl have mostly kept her pregnancy out of the public eye. They never officially announced their baby news, even when Cheryl's bump was clearly visible. So no one is sure exactly when she will give birth.
But some fans are wondering if Cheryl has already gone into labor. Last week, Payne returned to London after spending time in California working on his new album. That led fans to speculate that he was flying home to watch his son or daughter's birth. Fans also thought Cheryl had given birth because she had stayed silent on social media for several weeks. But Payne's rep told Gossip Cop last week that these rumors are "inaccurate." And Cheryl did return to social media on Thursday to promote her charity.
Still, speculation intensified when Cheryl's former bandmates randomly posted tributes to her on social media. On Tuesday, Sarah Harding posted a montage of old photos with Cheryl. She captioned the pics, "#Valentines #spesh#GA #saryl #kisses to the #missus...#tour banter #good #times." That came just days after Kimberley Walsh posted a throwback photo of her and Cheryl at the Brit Awards. Some fans wondered if these messages were Harding and Walsh's subtle ways of sending their congratulations.
But now a British tabloid says Cheryl is not due to give birth for a few more weeks. "The rumor mill has been rife that the birth is imminent and there have even been claims she’s in labor already but that’s not the case at all," a source supposedly told The Sun. "She’s still a little way off and has been enjoying the build-up as well as focusing on her charity announcement which is a really big deal for her."
In the meantime, Liam Payne and Cheryl are getting ready for her due date. There are even unconfirmed reports that they have invited their moms to move in with them to help when the baby arrives.
But once the child is born, Cheryl likely won't spoil the baby too much. She wrote in Girls Aloud's 2009 book, Dreams That Glitter, "There’s nothing worse than spoiled children."
She also wrote, "I’m glad I wasn’t brought up in a privileged situation, because you see some kids and all they’ve known is expensive clothes and getting all the latest models of this and that, and that’s not experiencing life. I’ll definitely let my kids know that life’s not a bowl of cherries and yes, you might have wonderful things, but believe me, you’ve got to appreciate them. There’s no way they’ll get everything they want."
