“After meeting her [Vonn], she found she actually liked her,” a source said of Nordegren. “You’d think it would be weird, but Elin loves Lindsey and they talk all the time. Elin likes that Lindsey is a strong woman.”
Nordegren famously divorced Tiger Woods in 2010 after learning of the golfer’s numerous affairs. The couple had two children together, which is reportedly part of the reason Elin Nordegren wanted to befriend the Olympic skier. The Swedish bombshell wanted to get to know the woman who would be spending time with 6-year-old Sam and 5-year-old Charlie.
“Lindsey is really good for Tiger,” the source continued. “She's strong, opinionated, and keeps him in line. Elin found that they are very similar and have a lot in common. They laugh and talk like they have been girlfriends forever.”
It actually does not surprise us that Lindsey Vonn and Elin Nordegren are friends. After all, Nordegren made off really well in after her split from Tiger Woods, so she has nothing to be mad about. As TMZ noted, the Swede received more than $100 million in the divorce settlement, which she used to complete a 21,000 square foot mansion.
And if for some reason she runs out of money, she could always borrow some from her rumored boyfriend, Chris Cline. The coal magnate is reportedly worth $1.2 billion, and he even has a yacht bigger than Tiger Woods’. Nordegren was first linked to Cline last March, but it is unclear if their relationship ever became serious.
“Elin was introduced to Chris by a local friend because they seem to have a lot in common,” a source told People last year. “They both have children, like to keep their personal lives quiet, believe in philanthropy, and enjoy leisure outdoor activity. They have a nice casual relationship that has blossomed into a romance. Elin is very impressed with him. She thinks he is a cool guy.”
