Another year, another Halloween costume for Heidi Klum! The Project Runway star is unquestionably the biggest celebrity Halloween enthusiast, and she goes all out with her costumes. Klum is gearing up for her 14th annual Halloween bash this Thursday in NYC, and if you have $10,000, you can even see her crazy costume in person. The model is auctioning off a meet-and-greet invitation to her scary dollhouse-themed party this year, with all proceeds going to UNICEF.
When it comes to Halloween, Klum starts thinking about her costumes months in advance. “I take Halloween very seriously, so I’m not a fan of a thrown together costume,” she said to Parade magazine. “I’d rather stay home than go out in an uninspired costume.”
Will Klum be able to outdo her crazy outfits from years past? Check out her five best Halloween costumes of all time:
In what Klum says is her favorite Halloween costume, she went as a dead body two years ago. The model was wheeled to the event on an autopsy table by two blood-splattered doctors. “It’s kind of like a dead body with the first layer of skin ripped off,” she explained. “It’s basically like me naked.”
At the second of her annual parties, Klum and then-husband Seal rolled into NYC’s Dream Downtown hotel in matching primate costumes. She explained to AP that she was the “link between man and ape.”
Not all her outfits have been well-received, though. In 2008, Klum apologized after Hindu religious groups complained when she went as Goddess Kali, the goddess who liberates souls from the cycle of birth and rebirth, for Halloween.
In 2010, Klum went with an elaborate “alien transformer” costume, while Seal went as the Silver Surfer. Her over-the-top Tauntaun costume was completed by walking on stilts.
By 2006, she had already earned her reputation as the queen of Halloween, but Klum took her costumes to a whole new level that year by appearing as the apple in the Garden of Eden.
