Jennifer Lawrence’s new Dior campaign is gorgeous! The Oscar-winning actress looks absolutely stunning in her new ads. But how do they compare to the Dior ads featuring Mila Kunis, Natalie Portman and Emilia Clarke?
J.Law was shot by photographer Patrick Demarchelier in a studio in New York for her new Dior campaign. And Lawrence looks absolutely gorgeous and totally ready for fall in various sweaters and coats as she clutches her Diorever Dior bags in her new ads.
Lawrence shot a behind the scenes video for WWD. She said that the Dior shoots are “easy and relaxed.” And she absolutely loves the handbags she’s promoting. She called them “chic, stylish and cool.”
Lawrence, of course, has been the face of Dior since 2012. She’s been in a number of campaigns, including the Dior Addict Lipstick back in 2015.
“It’s such a dream to represent an iconic brand that is synonymous with high fashion,” Lawrence said back in 2012. “It’s impossible to be in the industry without getting even the slightest introduction to fashion. I hate being overdressed so I normally find a way to ‘casualize’ anything too showy. If I have a red-carpet event, I definitely want a couple hours to get ready. But for my every day life, I’m normally ready in 15 minutes.”
Lawrence was the first new face of Dior since Raf Simons took over. But she’s far from the first actress to model for Dior. Dior always gets the biggest names in Hollywood to star in their latest campaigns.
Here's a look at five other actresses who have collaborated with Dior.
1. Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman signed a deal with Dior in 2010. She signed on to be the face of Dior perfume. Portman’s latest Dior campaign came out just a few days ago. She posed as the face of Dior’s new Rouge Dior lipstick campaign. The Hollywood Reporter recently asked Portman about her favorite memory working with Dior. “I think when we filmed at the Hotel de Cap for the Miss Dior campaign,” she said. “It was so luxurious and incredible. It felt like the golden days of movie making to have something so lavish.”
2. Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron signed on as the spokeswoman for “J’adore” for Dior back in 2004. Her latest ads came out in July. She wore an amazing glittering dress. “The dress this time – you can see that it’s part of the same family as the dresses we wore in the other campaigns for the last 10 years,” she said. “There was something about this dress that wasn’t structured to the body and yet had beautiful lines. There was something dancer-esque about it.”
3. Marion Cotillard
Marion Cotillard has been the face of Lady Dior handbags since 2008. She starred in a mini-movie and appeared in a series of short films in 2008. In 2012, she starred in a web series and performed the song “Lily’s Body,” designed her own handbag, and appeared on the cover of the first issue of Dior Magazine. In 2014, she wrote and co-directed a music video for her song “Snapshot in LA’ for Lady Dior. She recently did a Lady Dior campaign in April.
4. Mila Kunis
Mila Kunis began working with Dior back in 2012. She was the face of its Spring fashion campaign. She modeled the Miss Dior handbags, but J.Law took over that campaign back in 2013. “I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Dior,” Kunis said when she first landed the deal. “The brand is iconic in so many ways. It defines fashion, elegance and sophistication.”
5. Emilia Clarke
Back in 2015, it was revealed that Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke would be the face of Dior’s Rose des Vents jewelry campaign. She was photographed by Patrick Demarchelier and the photos appeared in Madame Figaro magazine in France. She wore rose gold, diamond, white mother-of-pearl, and pink opal necklaces in one photo and necklaces in lapis lazuli and turquoise in another.
