Beliebers were worried for a quick second that Miley Cyrus was going after their boy in her new scandalous interview with Rolling Stone. Now, Bieber is backing up the “Wrecking Ball” singer, even though she compared the 19-year-old to Vanilla Ice.
In the new RS, which Cyrus covers topless, the 20-year-old maven thinks she sees Bieber’s car in a parking lot, which prompts the interviewer to ask if they hang out. "A little bit," Cyrus said. "But not really.”
Cyrus actually does hang out with Bieber a lot and even recorded a new song called “Twerk” with him. Nevertheless, Cyrus told the magazine that she worries about the pop star.
“I'm not much older than him, so I never want it to feel like I'm mentoring him,” Cyrus said about Bieber to Rolling Stone. “But I do mentor him in a way. Because I've been doing this s**t for a long time, and I already transitioned, and I don't think he's quite done it yet.”
"He's trying really hard," Cyrus said. "People don't take him seriously, but he really can play the drums, he really can play guitar, he really can sing. I just don't want to see him f**k that up, to where people think he's Vanilla Ice. I tell him that. Like, 'You don't want to become a joke. When you go out, don't start s**t. Don't come in shirtless.' But the thing is," Cyrus told the magazine laughing, "I think boys are, like, seven years behind. So in his head, he's really, like, 12."
Obviously Cyrus felt some form of guilt over her comments about her friend because the “We Can’t Stop” singer tweeted Bieber about what she told RS.
Bieber didn’t seem to have any hard feelings towards Cyrus, either. The Canadian singer responded in a sweet way to his old friend saying, “@MileyCyrus all good. I know what it is. We keep it interesting”
That’s an understatement coming from both of them! Bieber is currently overseas on his Believe tour, while Cyrus’ new album Bangerz comes out October 8.
