Is Justin Bieber heading for another breakdown? The singer's strange antics have fans wondering if he needs rehab.
Bieber shockingly announced the cancelation of his Purpose tour last month. He had 14 stops left on the tour, which had started in March. Insiders told Us Weekly that he made the decision at the "very last minute." He didn't even tell the crew members beforehand.
"He found the world tour to be really challenging," another source told Us. "He wasn't able to have any routine. He shouldn't have gone on a world tour that size because he's just exhausted. He just didn't want to do it anymore. People around him didn't think he was going to finish it and knew from the start this was very ambitious for him."
This isn't the first time he's had issues coping with the stresses of fame. He's also lashed out at his fans during concerts and stopped taking pictures with Beliebers. He also raised eyebrows last year when he was spotted walking barefoot and sitting in a tree. Sources said at the time that he was just "beat" from his long tour.
Now Bieber has turned to religion to help him deal with the pressure. E! News confirms that the singer has become more involved with the Hillsong Church over the past year. The church helped him learn how to balance his life better. He's also grown particularly close to the church's pastor, Carl Lentz.
But insiders insist that Lentz wasn't the one who told Bieber to cancel the tour. In fact, according to TMZ, Lentz tried to convince Bieber to keep the tour going.
"Justin’s definitely done some soul searching lately but it was his own decision to cancel the tour," a source similarly told E! News. "It’s been hectic and that 'rock star' life doesn’t mix anymore with the life he wants to live."
Bieber's newfound dedication to the church should be commended. But his abrupt decision to cancel his tour is a troubling sign. Some fear he is going to break down or take an extended break from his career. Others wonder if he will need intense therapy or rehab.
Either way, those close to the singer insist he is going to return to work eventually. Members of his circle told TMZ that Bieber plans to record and tour again in the future.
