Are Kate Middleton's hemlines too short? Prince William's grandmother Queen Elizabeth thinks so! Word has come down from the royal palace that it's time for the Duchess of Cambridge to get in line and lengthen those skirts. She can start with her upcoming tour of Australia, the queen says.

Middleton will “deploy a couture wardrobe of day dresses with lower hemlines than she has previously favoured” on an upcoming trip to Australia, the Mail reports. Uh-oh. Is there trouble in paradise?

It's no secret that Middleton has great legs. And she definitely likes to show them off. Thigh-high hems have never been on the agenda. But above-the-knee skirts are de rigueur for the duchess. Surprisingly, the short story was especially noticeable during Middleton's nine months of pregnancy.

Hello, Sunshine! Early on in her pregnancy, Middleton chose a bright-yellow suit jacket by New Zealand-born designer Emilia Wickstead. We gave Kate Middleton huge props for taking a risk in a patterned Erdem dress when she visited The Willows Primary School in the Wythenshawe district near Manchester, northwest England in April 2013. But the combination of a clingy fabric and short hem wasn't helpful when Middleton walked and waved at fans.
