Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s marriage is in serious jeopardy, but it isn’t the drug allegations or rumored multiple affairs that has been the most devastating for the reality star. Kardashian is distraught by the fact that the NBA player is throwing away his potential, and risking his own life.
While Kardashian has been fielding bombshell reports of Odom’s infidelity and alleged ongoing drug abuse, there is one thing in particular that she’s having difficulty accepting. “She’s severely disappointed in him for not taking his life seriously,” a source told Hollywood Life. “He’s been fortunate to play in the NBA. Do you know how many guys dream of that? It’s a gift, Khloe told him, and it’s like he’s blowing it off and she’s pissed.”
In fact, when Kardashian and Odom first met, the basketball player was at the height of his career, enjoying a successful career with the Los Angeles Lakers. Since then, Odom was traded to a series of teams, and has not been able to regain his momentum. Kardashian fears that his latest struggles with drug abuse could cost her husband his life. “She doesn’t want her man to die and she’s fighting to save their marriage,” a source said.
“She’s a strong woman though, out there putting up a brave face for the world when her husband is spiraling out of control, and in a very bad way,” the insider added. Yet, it appears that Kardashian is still somewhat in denial about the state of her husband’s condition. While the reality star has been tirelessly trying to get through to Odom, he has been unresponsive.
“She thinks Lamar will eventually come to his senses and realize what he’s been missing. I don’t think she fully realizes that his addiction has nothing to do with her – it’s a disease of the mind, body and spirit. And it’s genetic,” the source explained. “I think Lamar is still in denial about the severity of his addiction.” Kardashian, however, is still holding out hope that Odom will bounce back.
“If Khloe could have anything for her anniversary, it would be for Lamar to once and for all go to rehab,” the source revealed.
