Are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West hated? The controversial couple have seen their popularity drop significantly according to their latest Q scores, a reputable system which measures popularity and likeability. It seems that West and Kardashian’s relationship is not popular with their fans since their individual Q scores began to decline when the couple started dating in April 2011.
West had a Q score of 17 among women between ages 18-49 before dating Kardashian, but that score is now at three. Comparatively, other hip-hop artists have seen their popularity score fall between 12 to 18, while regular male celebrities should score between 14-19. Meanwhile, Kardashian’s Q score was a nine in 2011, but has since fallen to four.
So why are the couple so hated and unpopular now? In the case of West, his arrogant statements and recent feud with Jimmy Kimmel over jokes the late-night host made about him have likely contributed to his Q score decline. For Kardashian, her sexy Instagram selfie last month outraged fans who felt the new mom to North West was too old to dress in that manner. However, the reality star has always been controversial with her attention-seeking behavior and many believe she is only famous for being famous.
The media storm surrounding their engagement may have also hurt the couple's popularity. West chose to propose to Kardashian in the most lavish way possible by renting out a baseball stadium in San Francisco, hiring a 60-piece orchestra and blaring his marriage request on the stadium jumbotron. The wedding proposal was also filmed for an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. But despite this, West and Kardashian are suing the co-founder of YouTube for invasion of privacy, claiming he uploaded footage from the ceremony and thereby violated a non-disclosure agreement.
Perhaps because of her declining popularity, it’s even being reported that Kardashian may go back to the well and pose on the cover of Playboy for a second time! She graced the cover in December 2007, and has reportedly been thinking about showing off her post-baby weight loss in the magazine. Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner took to Twitter to report the news, leading fans to believe we could be seeing more of Kardashian’s body than just her sexy Instagram shots.
Hefner tweeted (and then deleted): “@KimKardashian is looking to make it back onto the cover of Playboy, very exciting.” Although the Twitter message didn’t stay up long, it was screen-grabbed almost immediately and quickly went viral. Kardashian herself has not confirmed or denied the rumors.
