Indeed, the idea of a private civil wedding for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has floated around online for several days. Last week, Radar Online claimed that the couple’s lawyers urged them to tie the knot on United States soil for logistical purposes.

“Typically, the U.S. recognizes citizens getting married in France, but dealing with a foreign government and paperwork could be a nightmare,” the report said. “So just to make sure it's legal, Kim and Kanye will first be having a civil ceremony in Southern California.”

That same article reported that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West actually planned to have two weddings: the Los Angeles ceremony plus two more in Paris. But E! News denied this rumor, claiming the couple has not even sent out wedding invitations yet.

Early reports claimed Kim Kardashian and Kanye West planned to get married at the famed Palace of Versailles. But the palace’s Twitter handle insisted that in January that there would be no Kimye wedding at the location.

It now appears that the Palace has changed its mind, however. James Franco seemingly revealed the wedding’s Versailles location during an appearance on The View last week. Franco joked that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West asked him and Seth Rogen to recreate their viral parody of the rapper’s “Bound 2” video at the ceremony.

“We thought he [West] was just going to let us have it,” Franco said. “But he loved it. And I'm pretty sure I can say it now because I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen — he wanted us to perform it live the night before his wedding at Versailles. I think it would be awesome for about 10 seconds, but then there would be Seth with his shirt off in front of all the Kardashians.”
