Kim Kardashian’s reality TV career deserves a star on the Walk of Fame, according to boyfriend Kanye West. West joined Jimmy Kimmel to squash their feud while defending North’s mom.
True to form, West was full of surprises on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he faced off with the talk show host after an epic Twitter war last month. However, the conversation took an unexpected turn when West slammed the Walk of Fame for not honoring his girlfriend Kim Kardashian with a star despite her mega-successful career on reality television.
“I want to shout out to stars of the Walk of Fame real quickly because they said something about they’re not going to put my girl on the walk of fame because, you know, she’s a reality star,” West said. West continued his rant about the Hollywood tradition, arguing that Kardashian is plenty famous. “It’s like people are so, so dated. There’s no way that Kim Kardashian shouldn’t have a star on the Walk of Fame.”
West’s move may put enough pressure on Walk of Fame decision-makers to score Kardashian a star, and is another way the rapper hopes to legitimize the new mom. “Kanye has plans to totally revamp Kim’s whole life,” a source said. “He is specific in what he wants her to look like and dress like, and she’s happily going on with the plan now.”
In fact, Kardashian is confident that West’s plan will, in fact, be as genius as promised. “Kim realizes that what Kanye wants for her is to move up a social ladder that she’s anxious to climb,” the insider added. “By doing what he says, she believes she will reach another level of fame.” West’s control over Kardashian is beginning to take a toll on the reality star, however, especially when it comes to daughter North.
“Kanye never wants anything public to be out there about his daughter,” another source explained. “Kim is the one that wants to share every single thing Nori does with the whole world. She loves when people gush over her daughter and talk about how cute she is. It’s a huge sense of accomplishment for her, and she doesn’t want to give that up.”
