Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have been plagued by claims that Michael Girgenti is the biological father of their son, Mason. But the male model’s paternity lawsuit has now been discredited with a DNA test revealing the true identity of the 3-year-old’s father.
Kardashian submitted Mason's DNA for a paternity test, proving that Disick is, in fact, the father of her firstborn child. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star slammed Girgenti for falsely claiming that he was Mason’s father, and denied that the two ever had a sexual relationship. “After three-and-a-half years of rumors and lies being spread by an individual I met briefly at a photo shoot, I am setting the record straight that Scott is Mason’s father,” Kardashian said.
“While it saddens me to have to address these ridiculous lies – especially when the truth was never in doubt – this story must be put to rest,” Kardashian told E!. Kardashian’s decision to have a paternity test to prove Disick is Mason’s father came just days after Girgenti’s lawsuit demanding a DNA sample. The male model, whom Kardashian met in 2008, said that the reality star gave birth to Mason nine months after they had unprotected sex, promting him to write a letter to Kardashian begging for answers.
“My attentions [sic] are not to hurt the family you’ve created with Scott. But at the same time, Mason deserves to know the truth,” Girgenti wrote on April 23. “I assure you I don’t take being a father lightly. I will be a great father to Mason.” The male model threatened to take the paternity dispute to court, demanding a DNA test to determine the true identity of Mason’s father. “Please take this final request for a DNA test seriously. Because if you don’t, I will be forced to take legal action and sue,” Girgenti said.
Kardashian and Disick showed their solidary through the bombshell allegations, while an attorney for the mother-of-two slammed the story as false from the start. “This individual has been selling false and fabricated stories to tabloids for years about Kourtney Kardashian and her son, Mason,” Todd Wilson said. “His claims are absurd and this is simply another shameful attempt to gain publicity and profit from fictional stories about my client,” the lawyer added.
Now that Kardashian has released the DNA test results, proving Scott is Mason's father, Girgenti’s paternity lawsuit will likely be dropped, much to the relief of the celebrity parents.
