LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian will star in a reality show together, likely infuriating the actor’s ex-wife, Brandi Glanville, who has been in a vicious feud with the singer for years.
Rimes and Cibrian signed on for a VH1 series based on the drama that surrounds the couple’s life. The self-titled LeAnn & Eddie show will begin with a six-episode arch, giving the singer a chance to get revenge on Glanville. “LeAnn and Eddie Cibrian are bringing what you think you know – and what you don’t to VH1,” the network said in the announcement. “[They] have been a Hollywood super-couple for years now, and along with all their talent and fame comes infamy, paparazzi, and tabloid rumors,” the statement continued.
Rimes has faced a nasty rap, largely thanks to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Glanville, but her reality show will allow her to finally set the record straight. “Inside the sanctity of their world, they are a typical normal modern family – a married couple, who both have careers and are also learning how to navigate the co-parenting of Eddie’s two sons,” VH1 explained, adding that the show will premiere in fall 2013.
Rimes and Cibrian said they hope to show fans who they really are after years of scandalous headlines about their affair. “We are really excited to be working together on a unique show that will give you a glimpse into who we really are or, better yet, who we’re really not,” Rimes and Cibrian said. The controversial couple also revealed that their reality show will be produced by the same people who made Duck Dynasty a fan-favorite. “We’re thrilled to partner with VH1 and The Gurneys to put our spin on a project full of love, humor and music,” the couple gushed.
Rumors that Rimes and Cibrian were shopping for a reality show began earlier this year with reports that the couple wanted to star in a sitcom based on their lives. While Rimes has made critical comments about Glanville’s reality role in the past, she has now followed suit with her own VH1 gig. “There’s no ‘reality’ in reality show,” Rimes told Jay Leno just last year. Glanville has yet to comment on her nemesis’ new TV show, but made sure to let fans know she was busy with her own career. “Working a TON and hoping for the BEST,” Brandi Glanville said after the news was announced.
