Maybe Lindsay Lohan moving in her with her mother, Dina, isn’t such a good idea after all. The Lohan mother-daughter duo are reportedly planning to shack up after Lohan finishes her court-ordered rehab stint next month, but, now, Lohan's counselors don’t even want Dina to be involved with her daughter's treatment. Sources told TMZ that Dina was drunk when the facility attempted to arrange a daytime phone chat between her and Lohan. As a result, the facility has advised Lohan not to speak to her mother for the duration of her treatment.
The attempted phone call between Dina and Lindsay Lohan took place shortly before the actress’ birthday on July 2. The call was intended to lift Lohan’s spirits, since she wouldn’t be able to see loved ones on her birthday. The clinic worker who arranged the call, however, reported that Dina was “hammered” and not in a position to participate. “She’s been banned from participating in her rehab treatment,” TMZ wrote. “Furthermore, we’re told the rehab team felt it would be best for LiLo’s treatment if she stopped talking to Dina altogether for the rest of her stay.”
Lohan has also allegedly been advised by rehab counselors to move into a sober living facility following her treatment, and not with Dina in Long Island as originally planned. Lohan, however, is reportedly against the idea of living with strangers any longer than necessary, and is longing for the comforts of home. "[Lindsay and Dina] have been known to go out clubbing and drinking together. Lindsay doesn’t need a friend in her parents, she needs Dina to act as her mother,” an insider told Radar Online. “However, Lindsay has no desire to move into a sober living facility.”
The actress has also reportedly talked about staying with friends, but, according to the source, that “opens up another can of worms because most of her pals are party animals….Time will tell how seriously she is taking her latest stint at recovery.”
Meanwhile, Dina told the New York Daily News that her daughter would “definitely” begin her new sober life back at home, adding that she was looking forward to seeing Lohan before then. “We’re going to work it out to all go visit her again and then we’re planning a pool party,” she said.
When Lohan finishes treatment, she will take part in an interview with Oprah Winfrey and begin work on a docu-series for the OWN Network that will chronicle her career comeback (for which she will reportedly be paid $2 million). She has also reportedly been hired by the entertainment website Celebuzz to blog about “lessons learned” during her rehab experience.
