Margot Robbie's wedding dress was gorgeous! Surprising Suicide Squad fans everywhere, the blond beauty got married to her boyfriend Tom Ackerley over the weekend. And we are totally obsessed with her off-the-shoulder gown.
After rumors started swirling she said “I do” over the weekend in Australia, she confirmed the wedding announcement on Monday night by posting a shot on Instagram kissing her new husband with her wedding ring in the foreground. The ring features a large teardrop-shaped stone on a thin platinum diamond-encrusted band with a very thin wedding band underneath. Fans first got a sense something big could be happening when Robbie was spotted arriving in Australia, her home country, wearing a T-shirt that read “Say ‘I Do’ Down Under.”
Then a handful of photos posted by close friends and family led to even more speculation about a wedding and revealed some fun details about the ceremony and reception. According to the Australian newspapers, the couple wed in Byron Bay, New South Wales despite the couple never officially announcing their engagement. The couple exchanged personal vows they’d written inside a white teepee at in front of about 50 guests, including her brothers Lachlan and Cameron.
Reports say Robbie’s mother, Sarie Kessler, gave her away. The wedding location was kept secret from guests who were taken to the property by bus and had to give up their cellphones. But some slipped out as her brother Cameron was tagged in a photo that appeared to show the wedding party on Sunday night with four of Margot Robbie's friends.
“The joys holiday travels; loving families being reunited, gift giving, great food and then,” read the caption. The 26-year-old bride wore a white off-the-shoulder lace dress with a ribbon cinched at the waist and a long skirt, according to new pictures that were just revealed.
Robbie wore a sleek gold pendant necklace and kept her hair simple, pulling it back into a loose French braid. Australian newspaper Northern Star revealed that guests ate a wedding breakfast consisting of pizza, barbecued food and Coco Pops!
Robbie met the British assistant director in 2013 on the set of the Suite Francaise, and they moved in together by June 2014.
