The main ad features McCarthy on a mission to save the planet. She rides a boat in the ocean to save the whales, only to get flung into another ship. Then she hugs a tree but falls to the ground when the tree is cut.
Next, McCarthy tries to protect the polar ice caps, but the ice collapses underneath her feet. Finally, she goes to save rhinos but ends up getting gored by one of them. "It's hard to be an eco-warrior, but it's easy to drive like one," the ad concludes.

McCarthy also appears in a few shorter Kia ads that may also air during the Super Bowl. In one, she uses heated seats to placate her penguin passenger. In another, she calls Kia's roadside assistance after her car gets stuck on an iceberg. And in the third, she uses the car's backup camera to escape from the rhino chasing her.

The new ads confirm that Melissa McCarthy is maintaining her weight loss. She's dropped an estimated 50 pounds over the past few years.
"[There's] No trick, nothing to tell, just super boring life," she previously told Extra. "You bring it real down, you don’t do anything fun and you go to bed at 7:30 — that's the trick."
In fact, Melissa McCarthy admitted that she was most successful when she stopped thinking about her weight loss. "I stopped over-analyzing, over-thinking, over-doing anything," McCarthy said in 2015. "I kinda went back to when I was pregnant and I just stopped constantly being worried about it, and I think there’s something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked. I could’ve figured that out before 44, but whatever."
And even now that Melissa McCarthy has lost so much weight, she doesn't want people to obsess about the way she looks. She has been a champion for healthy body image and even started a clothing line for women of all sizes.
"I'll be up, I'll be down, probably for the rest of my life," she admitted to Refinery29. "The thing is, if that is the most interesting thing about me, I need to go have a lavender farm in Minnesota and give this up. There has to be something more. There are so many more intriguing things about women than their butt or their this or their that."
