Does Miley Cyrus have a new enemy? Ed Sheeran is now the latest celebrity to call Cyrus out after her infamous VMA performance and music video for “Wrecking Ball.” How did Sheeran diss the 20-year-old singer?
Sheeran reportedly told The Mirror that although Cyrus has an incredible voice, the former Hannah Montana star is “packaged the wrong way.” Sheeran also insulted Cyrus’ signature dance move: twerking. “It’s a stripper’s move,” Sheeran said. “If I had a daughter of nine, I wouldn’t want her twerking.”
Ouch! Sheeran who is most famous for his mellow song “Lego House” admitted he loved Cyrus’ latest single, but not the video.
“When I first heard “Wrecking Ball,” I thought it was a brilliant song,” Sheeran said. “But the video distracts too much from it.”
Sheeran isn’t the only celebrity who has it out for Cyrus after her much talked about makeover. But one who has her back? Justin Bieber. After Cyrus compared the 19-year-old to Vanilla Ice, many thought he would be mad, but the “Baby” singer took Cyrus’ comments to Rolling Stone in stride.
"He's trying really hard," Cyrus said. "People don't take him seriously, but he really can play the drums, he really can play guitar, he really can sing. I just don't want to see him f**k that up, to where people think he's Vanilla Ice. I tell him that. Like, 'You don't want to become a joke. When you go out, don't start s**t. Don't come in shirtless.' But the thing is," Cyrus told the magazine laughing, "I think boys are, like, seven years behind. So in his head, he's really, like, 12."
Cyrus felt her words were misunderstood because she later tweeted, ““Always have ALWAYS will root for @justinbieber he always has and ALWAYS will be the s**t. #onlylamestwistwords” Cyrus tweeted out to her followers.”
Bieber replied to Cyrus, “@MileyCyrus all good. I know what it is. We keep it interesting”
That’s for sure! Cyrus’ new album Bangerz comes out October 8.
