Adam Levine’s engagement to Behati Prinsloo has left hearts broken worldwide, but it’s easy to see why the Maroon 5 singer chose the Victoria’s Secret model to be his bride. Now, the blonde beauty is dishing on how Levine proposed!
“I am so happy and excited and still can’t believe it’s true!” Prinsloo said when asked about her engagement to Levine. The gorgeous model couldn’t help but gush over being the future Mrs. Adam Levine, but when it came to how the singer popped the question, Prinsloo remained rather coy. “It was a one-knee thing!” the Victoria's Secret angel revealed. “It was serious, it was very old school!” the lingerie model added.
Prinsloo said that she and Levine haven’t started making wedding plans just yet since they are still processing the joyous news. “[We] are just celebrating with our friends and family at the moment,” Prinsloo explained, adding that the diamond ring that Levine proposed with was “perfect.”
Levine’s fiancée’s shock isn’t unwarranted considering that The Voice judge was photographed with fellow VS model Nina Agdal just weeks before he popped the question. Levine and Agdal were vacationing in Mexico, frolicking in the sun during a one-on-one volleyball game. But Levine, apparently, never got over Prinsloo.
“He realized he really does love her and she was the one,” a source explained. “They are in love.” The statement released by Levine and Prinsloo announcing the news also suggested a recent reconciliation. “Adam Levine and his girlfriend Behati Prinsloo are excited to announce they are engaged to be married,” the rep said. “The couple recently reunited and Adam proposed this weekend in Los Angeles.”
As for Levine’s ex, Agdal, sources say she is handling the news well. The supermodel posted carefree pictures on a Venice beach, reportedly to show she's moved on. “Nina is doing fine. But it’s hard to believe he went from not wanting to get married at all to a straight-up proposal,” a source explained. Yet it seems that for Levine Agdal just wasn’t the one. And his emotional reconciliation with Prinsloo prompted him to prop the question.
“The Nina thing was not that serious and was not going to last,” a source said, adding that Levine “got back with Behati right away” after splitting from Agdal. “Adam kept talking to Behati, and was flooded with emotion when they saw each other again," the insider revealed. "He knew he wanted to propose.”
