Pippa Middleton's wedding dress was gorgeous! Kate's sister married James Matthews in a beautiful ceremony Saturday morning.
Pippa Middleton wore a lace gown with a high neckline for her big day. It was designed by Giles Deacon and included a heart-shaped cutout in the back.
Her wedding day outfit also included a veil designed by Stephen Jones. It was made of tulle and featured embroidered pearls. She added a Maidenhair Fern tiara by Robinson Pelham and Manolo Blahnik pump.
The bride also appeared to have the same Robinson Pelham diamond drop earrings she wore for her sister's nuptials. And she carried a pretty bouquet made of peony, sweet pea, astilbe, freesia, waxflower, green bell and alchemilla mollis.
Leading up to the wedding, there had been reports that Deacon would design Pippa Middleton's dress. He confirmed the speculation on Saturday, stating that he was "thrilled" to work with Pippa before her special day. Deacon also told Business Of Fashion that Pippa "has a great eye" and "knew what she wanted" in her wedding dress.
"The bespoke silk cotton lace was hand appliquéd to create an illusion of the dress having 'no seams,'" he said in a statement. "The lace bodice is embroidered with pearl detailing over an organza and tulle underskirt, which has layer upon layer to enable a floor-sweeping movement. It’s a privilege to show the craftsmanship that my team produces in London and a real testament to Pippa’s support of British fashion."
According to BoF, Deacon buried his father just days before the wedding. So while his career will likely get a big boost from designing Pippa Middleton's dress, the designer is keeping things in perspective.
"My concentration has been to get the piece done as beautifully and professionally as possible," Deacon said. "Whatever happens afterwards, happens. That’s the way you’ve got to be."
Reports say Pippa Middleton's dress cost over $50,000. It was part of a ceremony that cost around 300,000 pounds (nearly 400,000 American dollars). The wedding featured Princess Charlotte as a flower girl and Prince George as a pageboy. They and other members of the bridal party wore custom Pepa & Co outfits.
Of course, Kate Middleton and Prince William were at the wedding, as well. They were joined by Pippa Middleton's parents Carole and Michael, along with her brother James. James Matthews' brother Spencer and parents David and Jane Matthews were also in attendance.
Other wedding guests included Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie, and Roger Federer and his wife. In all, around 100 people attended the private wedding at St. Mark's Church.
But despite speculation Harry would bring Meghan Markle to the wedding, she was not pictured at the ceremony. She may attend the reception this evening, however. Around 300 people have been invited to the less formal party at the Middleton family home.
