Renee Zellweger looks so different in the Bridget Jones’s Baby trailer! There’s no denying that Zellweger has changed a tremendous amount over the years. And her before and after photos show the evolution.
Zellweger just debuted the new Bridget Jones’s Baby trailer and she comes complete with a brand new baby bump — fake, of course! Zellweger reportedly refused to gain weight for her latest movie.
Zellweger would go through a dramatic weight gain every time she did a Bridget Jones role, and then she would go through a huge weight loss once she stopped filming.
“Can I just tell you my body is whacked by the time we finished one of those,” Zellweger said in 2007. “It doesn’t know what has happened because it thinks there’s supposed to be a baby and there’s no christening.” She would gain and lose 20 pounds through her yo-yo diet, which made her concerned for her health. After filming, she would quickly start working out for two hours six days a week doing weight training and running and would go on a strict diet.
Zellweger’s weight isn’t the only thing that’s changed about her looks though. Back in October 2014, Zellweger was brutally bullied when she showed up looking unrecognizable at Elle’s Women in Hollywood event.
Zellweger’s face looked so different at the event that she was plagued with rumors of plastic surgery, Botox and more. But Zellweger said she looked different for a very simple reason: She's happy!
“I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows,” Zellweger said in a statement to People.
“My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy. For a long time I wasn’t doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn’t allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad decisions about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things.”
The Bridget' Jones's Diary star added that she's more at peace in her 40s. “People don’t know me [as] healthy for a while,” she said. “Perhaps I look different. Who doesn’t as they get older?! Ha. But I am different. I’m happy.”
