Robin Wright is engaged to a much younger man and just took home a Golden Globe for Best Actress! 2014 could definitely be the House of Cards star's year.
The House of Cards actress beat out her fellow nominees Julianna Margulies, Tatiana Maslany, Taylor Schilling, and Kerry Washington. Upon winning, Wright announced that she had no speech prepared — the win was unexpected! "Thank you, Fincher, for convincing me to do this. Because he said you can create her and let her come out of marble if you want," Wright said in her speech, adding that co-star Kevin Spacey was “the best play date ever.” After flashing a little bit of tape on her breasts, she quickly concluded, “Thank you, I gotta go.”
The winner, 47, looked better than ever in her shimmering Reem Acra dress. To accessorize her gown, Wright wore her new engagement ring and fiancé Ben Foster on her arm. Backstage at the Golden Globes, Wright said: “I’m shocked right now. Don’t know what’s going on exactly. It’s so new. We’re still talking about where, when, how. And I couldn’t be happier.”
Wright, who divorced Sean Penn back in 2010, has found a new love with Foster, who is 14 years her junior. “Ben is a sweet guy and you don't even notice the age difference. He's a lot more mild-mannered than Sean [Penn]," a source close to Wright told Us Weekly. "And Robin's kids Dylan and Hopper like him and like seeing their mom happy."
Foster, 33, and Wright both starred in the 2011 movie Rampart and on the red carpet, they looked very much in love. One thing is clear: 2014 is sure to be an amazing year for the actress, and we’re excited to see what she does next!
