RuPaul has found an unlikely BFF in controversial reality star Courtney Stodden. The Drag Race host has launched a new YouTube video series entitled RuPaul Drives, modeled after Jerry Seinfeld’s current video series Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. The latest installment of the RuPaul series features sexy Twitter star Stodden, who is currently a contestant on the UK edition of Celebrity Big Brother.
In the video, Stodden insists to RuPaul that her persona of being a dumb blond is merely acting, citing her inspirations such as Jane Mansfield and Brigitte Bardot as similar examples. “They play that sex kitten, dumb blond role, but underneath that they’re very smart,” said Stodden. And, you know, I’m smart too. I can play this role and entertain people and it’s fun.” RuPaul was supportive of Stodden’s supposedly manufactured image, telling her it was all about “getting that mothaf*ckin check!”
The Twitter celebrity also addressed her marriage to Green Mile actor Doug Hutchison, which gave Stodden the teen bride label because she walked down the aisle at 16 and married the then-51-year-old actor. However, Stodden said she has learned to become grateful for the attention. "When I married my husband, I had no idea it was going to turn into this whole media storm," she said. "I had no concept of that. I feel blessed when the paparazzi is following me around and they want to take my photo."
Stodden is currently competing on the U.K. edition of Celebrity Big Brother, and has reportedly been gaining fans as a result of her time of the show. Perhaps unsurprisingly, she has also made a few enemies in the house, including former Five singer Abz Love. Stodden confronted him directly about his impression of her being vapid and uninterested in real connections with people. "Because of how I am treated by men looking and lusting sometimes," she explained, "I just get a little bit protective of myself."
In one of the bizarre images of the show, the 18-year-old is shown enjoying her first legal drink abroad by sipping alcohol from her clear, plastic shoe. She also explained to her housemates that despite her sexy image and dancing in a cage on opening night in the house, there are some things she wouldn't do. "The day I turned 18 I got loads of porn offers," said Stodden, but explained that she turned them down, saying "I would have been a slut and not here now."
British betting sites currently have Stodden as one of the frontrunners to win the show at 10-1 odds.
