Will Simone Biles, Erika Jayne, Heather Morris or Nancy Kerrigan win Dancing With The Stars Season 24? The 2017 cast is the most athletic one we've seen in years. And there are countless contestants who could win the mirrorball at the end.
Here's a look at what you can expect during tonight's DWTS premiere.
1. The Premiere Songs Were Already Revealed!
Song choice is huge, and luckily we got a sneak peek at what musical number the stars will use to make a first impression on the dance floor. Nick Viall and partner Peta Murgatroyd will dance the Cha Cha to "Let Me Love You" by DJ Snake and Tiesto featuring Justin Bieber.
Chicago Cubs’ David Ross will dance with Lindsay Arnold to the Cubs pump-up song "Go Cubs Go." Mr. T will embrace his former role of B.A. Baracus dancing to the "Theme from the A-Team" with partner Kym Herjavec. Simone Biles and Sasha Farber will Tango to "Untouchable" by Tritonal and Cash Cash. Check out the full list here.
2. Being The Bachelor Is Harder Than Dancing For Nick Viall
Fresh off his engagement announcement, Nick sat down with his partner and fiancée on Wednesday for a DWTS Facebook Live interview. When asked which was harder being the Bachelor or prepping for DWTS he had an interesting response. “That’s actually a really tough question. They’re both incredibly difficult,” he said. Being the Bachelor might be one of the hardest things ever,” he continued.
“Dancing hurts, like physically is painful, but being the Bachelor is an emotionally — it’s a lot of emotional pain. But as hard as they both are, they’re a lot of fun, too. And hopefully with Dancing, as many good things happen from that as things happen from being the Bachelor,” said Viall, who added, “they’re both pretty hard, but also equally amazing.”
3. Some Critics Say One Contestant Has An Unfair Advantage
When Heather Morris was announced as a cast member, fans commented that her participation wasn’t fair to the other contestants because of her professional dancing background. She was a backup dancer for Beyoncé and also appeared on So You Think You Can Dance. And sources told E! News that the cast is not happy about the casting.
"There has been some joking and a little snark about it among the other contestants," the insider said, "but it's just because there is literally no doubt she's a professional dancer. It takes the others days or even a full week to learn a routine. She gets it down in a matter of hours."
4. Maks Chmerkovskiy and Petra Murgatroyd Are Also Tackling Parenting Duty
Though they’re competing on the upcoming season, both Maks and Peta are also taking on parenting duty to their 2-year-old son Shai. The new dad shared a video on Instagram last week practicing his dance moves with his newborn, and Peta introduced her tot to Nick and Vanessa during rehearsal.
5. Mr. T Turned Down DWTS Before Finally Agreeing
“I turned [‘DWTS’] down like five or six times — mainly because there has to be a unique time to be ready for it,” Mr. T told the Chicago Sun Times. “I didn’t have the time earlier, because I knew there was a lot of work involved in it. ... This time the stars were aligned, and I said yes.”
He also admitted he knows he’s not the best dancer and is happy to be the joke on the show. “Listen, I’m a clown,” he added. “I know how to put on a good show. I’m going to do my best.”
