Tori Spelling may end up broke following Dean McDermott’s cheating scandal. According to Life & Style, the former Beverly Hills 90210 star is paying between $60,000 and $70,000 a month for her husband’s subsequent rehab stay.
“Not only is Tori dealing with allegations of Dean’s cheating and being a single mom right now, she’s also stressed about standing by her man's finances,” a friend told the magazine. “He’s promised her he’ll do anything to keep their family together, so he might have to be there longer than the average 30-day stint.”
Dean McDermott checked into rehab late last month, after rumors went viral that he had cheated on Tori Spelling with a woman named Emily Goodhand. It’s unclear exactly what condition he is in rehab for, though there are reports he is dealing with a sex addiction.
“[Tori’s] told Dean she’ll leave him if he doesn’t get help for sex addiction,” a source told Life & Style after the Emily Goodhand cheating rumors went viral. “She’s finally laying down the law because she knows things can’t continue like this. If it weren’t for the kids, she’d have left him already. She’s devastated.”
In fact, there are rumors that Dean McDermott did not just cheat on Tori Spelling with Emily Goodhand. Radar Online reported last month that the actor admitted having affairs with five different women in the last two years.
Tori Spelling clearly wants to save her marriage, or she wouldn’t have pushed for Dean McDermott to enter rehab. The couple is trying to work things out, and the two recently ran errands together in Los Angeles. It was the first time they had been seen together since McDermott began rehab.
But Tori Spelling may be helping her husband at the cost of her net worth. After all, the couple was reportedly having money issues even before this Emily Goodhand cheating drama. Spelling even told People last year that McDermott decided against a vasectomy because the family couldn’t afford it.
"We're in the entertainment business, and things change year to year," Tori Spelling said. "We don't have a series on the air right now, so we have to be more restrictive of what we can spend, just like anyone who doesn't currently have a steady job.”
Paying for her husband’s rehab could cost Tori Spelling even more money. But ironically, the actress’s financial troubles are part of the reason she is staying with Dean McDermott after the Emily Goodhand affair. Per Radar Online, Tori Spelling is afraid she will go broke because she did not sign a pre-nup before her marriage.
“She would definitely kick Dean to the curb if she could financially afford to do so,” a source said. “Tori has admitted she would file for divorce from Dean, but she is afraid she would go broke. The couple has no prenuptial agreement, and Tori is the sole breadwinner. Dean wouldn’t settle for anything less than joint custody, and Tori would be forced to pay him spousal and child support. It’s a really sad situation for Tori and the kids.”
