The View ratings have soared following years of behind-the-scenes drama. And the cast and crew have opened up about the talk show's success in its 20th season.

New York's ABC station recently went behind-the-scenes on The View. And Senior Executive Producer Hilary Estey McLoughlin spoke about how the show has become relevant again.

"I think we're talking about the show again," McLoughlin said. "Some people like the show, and some people don't like the show. But I think they're watching the show."

Indeed, ratings for The View have gotten stronger this season. So far this season, it has beaten rival The Talk in Total Viewers and the coveted Women 25-54 and Women 18-49 demos. And ratings in all three categories are up from this time last year, including a nine percent increase in Total Viewers.

The View Not Canceled 'The View' has performed solidly in the ratings this season. And the current panel of hosts has good chemistry. So there is no reason for ABC to cancel the show. The head of ABC News even praised the series in a recent email to staff about the show's new senior EP.

Part of the reason for The View's ratings success is the stability among the co-hosts. Whoopi Goldberg admitted to ABC that the show has had a "revolving door" of cast members in recent years.

"I think it put us in a very odd position," Goldberg said of the previous departures. "So once the table got settled and, you know, we're in a really interesting political cycle. I think it has gelled."

That  "revolving door" continued somewhat this season with the departures of Raven-Symone and Candace Cameron-Bure. But they had cut back on their View appearances before their exits. So fans have been used to the current panel of Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Paula Faris and Jedediah Bila for quite some time.

The View Cast Whoopi Joy Jedediah Whoopi Goldberg has said that she is leaving 'The View' after this season.

It's possible The View cast could get another shakeup if Goldberg follows through with her plans to leave after Season 20. Still, there are no signs the show will end anytime soon. After all, The View's ratings remain strong. And Haines recently noted how relevant it remains in 2017.

"When will it not be relevant?" Haines said. "When you think about it, the whole theory behind the show is getting women from different generations to sit down and talk like we do. We come from different places, we think different things. That's always going to be a formula that works."
