Wow — our jaws are still on the floor after watching the most intense episode of The Walking Dead we’ve seen thus far. While we anticipated some major drama during the mid-Season 4 finale of The Walking Dead, we never could have guessed the gruesome casualties of Episode 8, “Too Far Gone.”
That said, we’d like to send our condolences to all those who lost their lives last night during the AMC series mid-season finale, including group-patriarch Hershel, little Meghan, and one-eyed antagonist The Governor.
"The mid-season finale is the biggest thing we've attempted, I think, so far in our show,” Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes on the AMC show teased fans prior to airing the finale. “I think the crew, and Ernest Dickerson, who directed it, everybody busted their guts to do that episode. Darrell Pritchett, who does the special effects — he's the man with the dynamite — was the busiest man I've ever seen. It was thrilling. Just thrilling. It just felt like an incredibly exciting episode. And then in the [final eight of the season], it's like we're spinning out into orbit, and it's a completely new show. It's really, really exciting."
Put us on the edge of our seats, why don’t you, Lincoln! So what can we expect when The Walking Dead returns to AMC February 9, 2014 at 9 p.m. EST? After last night’s mid-Season 4 Ffinale, here are some questions we have on our minds:
- Who survived the jail shootout?
- Will the survivors on the bus ever meet up with the group members they left behind?
- Did baby Judith really die?
- What will happen to Lilly and Tara Chambler now that Meghan and The Governor are dead?
- Will Glenn and Sasha survive leaving the jail in their condition?
- Will the group run into Carol now that their jail sanctuary is taken over by walkers?
- Will there be a new enemy now that The Governor is dead?
According to the mid-Season 4 premiere promo of The Walking Dead, here is what we can expect in Episode 9: It looks like the February premiere is going to largely focus on the individual storylines of the surviving members, explaining how they are coping since the prison battle. The main question on everyone’s minds is: Will the group reunite? We have Carl wandering around with his wounded father, Beth shooting arrows with Daryl, and Tyreese fighting walkers on his own while his sister Sasha and Bob search throughout the woods for the lost bus. Michonne and Maggie are also flying solo, trying to reunite with their loved ones.
While most of the group is searching in the woods for the bus, Carl and Rick head to a home so that the former sheriff can recover. But at one point, it looks like Rick nearly meets his demise while his son shakes him and screams for him to “wake up.”
What do you think is going to happen during the mid-season 4 premiere of The Walking Dead?
