Last week on TWD Season 7, Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Eugene (Josh McDermitt) worked to make a bullet. And someone gave Daryl (Norman Reedus) his motorcycle key and told him to leave The Sanctuary.
But most of the episode revolved around Carl's (Chandler Riggs) interaction with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Negan tried his best to break Carl, even forcing the teen to sing to him. Negan also had Carl remove his eye patch and show the extent of his injury. Yet that just made Carl even stronger on The Walking Dead.
"In that scene, Carl does consider leaving the bandage off because up until that point, no one had seen him without it," Riggs said after last week's TWD Season 7 episode. "Carl sees it as a weakness and it hinders his ability to accurately shoot — as we saw when he was throwing darts — and he is embarrassed about that. So for Negan to respect how it looks, it's a pivotal moment for Carl. That is when Carl starts to soften up to Negan."
So what will happen on the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead? The synopsis for TWD Episode 8, "Hearts Still Beating," states, "Negan's unwelcome visit to Alexandria continues as other members scavenge for supplies; things quickly spin out of control." And according to McDermitt, things will end "with a bang."

McDermitt added to EW.com, "The way the last episode ended, with [Negan] holding baby Judith, is pretty disgusting, and we’re gonna pick up shortly after that and see what goes down. You know, Rick [Andrew Lincoln] right now is not in Alexandria. He’s off on a supply run or something with Aaron [Ross Marquand], so we’re gonna see more of that and what happens there. And hopefully, he can make it back to Alexandria in time to see Negan basically becoming the adoptive father to baby Judith and Carl. And everything is going to do go down in Alexandria."
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW
But that's not the only death that will occur in The Walking Dead mid-season finale. Rosita will reportedly try to use her bullet to kill Negan, only to miss and hit Lucille instead. As punishment, Negan will order the death of Olivia (Ann Mahoney) in "Hearts Still Beating." Negan will also supposedly capture Eugene after he admits that he made the bullet for Rosita.
