Poor Zac Efron! The hot actor reportedly broke his jaw in a freak accident at home. An insider told People that Efron slipped in a puddle in his home on Sunday, consequently breaking his jaw. His jaw had to then be wired shut. The Awkward Moment star also had to get stitches for a gash in his head from the slip.
E! reported that Efron slipped when he apparently didn’t see the puddle. Efron is expected to make a full recovery, but upcoming promotions for his January film That Awkward Moment have been postponed for the moment.
"He's good," His Awkward Moment co-star Michael B. Jordan told E! about Efron. "He's going to be OK." Jordan was being honored at the GQ Men of the Year party and before his accident, Efron was supposed to attend. "I spoke to him," Jordan told Us Weekly. “I texted him. He's good. He's as good as can be. He'll be OK!"
Efron made news earlier this year when it was revealed that the former High School Musical star had been to rehab twice. TMZ reported that Efron was in treatment for cocaine and Molly use. “He tried to clean himself up in March by getting professional help,” TMZ reported. “We're told he left California and stayed in a private residence where he received intensive outpatient care for several weeks.”
Efron then sought more help after relapsing on the set of his film Neighbors. TMZ reported yesterday that Efron was having some trouble staying clean as of late. "He's had to go from being a party boy to being completely sober," an Efron friend said in the fall. "It's going to take time, but he's handling it well."
Efron is reportedly spending time with new GF Lily Collins. The actor was spotted on a movie date with the actress and then holding hands at Disneyland with the starlet. Although, at first, sources said the two were just friends, another insider said, “They got very cozy during the date.” Collins is thought to be a good influence on Efron since she’s sober. “I didn’t feel the pleasure of drinking or doing drugs,” Collins recently said. “I wanted to remember the fun moments that I had with my friends and not wake up and go, ‘Um, I think I had fun?’”
